DIY Roll-on to Beat the Winter Blues

As the days grow shorter and the temperatures plummet, many of us find ourselves succumbing to the winter blues, a common phenomenon that can leave us feeling sluggish, irritable, and emotionally drained. The lack of sunlight, chilly weather, and the confinement indoors can take a toll on our overall well-being, making it essential to seek natural remedies to combat these feelings of melancholy.

One potent ally in our battle against the winter blues is aromatherapy, a therapeutic practice that harnesses the power of essential oils to uplift our spirits and promote emotional balance. Aromatherapy is a gentle yet effective way to soothe the mind and body, offering a natural alternative to conventional treatments.

Aromatherapy works by stimulating our olfactory system, the part of our brain responsible for processing smells. When we inhale the aroma of essential oils, they interact with our brain's receptors, influencing our emotions and mood. This direct connection between scent and emotions makes aromatherapy a powerful tool in lifting our spirits during the colder months.

One convenient and user-friendly way to incorporate aromatherapy into our daily routines is through roll-on blends. These portable remedies allow us to enjoy the benefits of essential oils on the go. Simply roll the blend onto your pulse points, such as wrists, temples, and neck, and breathe in the soothing aroma. This simple act can provide instant relief, calming the mind and bringing a touch of warmth to even the chilliest winter days.

Let’s further explore the world of aromatherapy, discovering how these aromatic wonders can bring a ray of sunshine into our lives during the winter season. • 1 tsp measuring spoon
  • 6 disposable pipettes, you can see what these look like here.
  • 1 25 ml glass beaker, you can see what this looks like here.
  • 1 mixing spoon, or tiny spatula - don’t use plastic!
  • 1 Blank Label

Ingredients:

Steps to make your meditation roll on:

  1. Measure out your 2 tsp of Jojoba Oil and add to your glass beaker. Use one of the disposable pipettes if needed to precisely dispense the Jojoba oil.
  2. Add all essential oils to Jojoba oil and mix well.  Use your disposable pipettes to dispense your essential oils if you are finding the essential oil bottle’s dropper isn’t flowing correctly.  If you want to use the pipette you’ll have to remove the plastic orifice reducer of the essential oil bottle first.  And make sure not to use the same dropper for all the essential oils - you don’t want to cross contaminate the scents!
  3. Once all the essential oils and jojoba oil are well blended, pour carefully into your roller bottle and snap in the “ball” insert, shake, cap and label!  Now it is ready to use.

How to Use

The best and most effective way to use your DIY Aromatherapy Roll-on, is to dab your temples and top and back of your head before whenever you start feeling negative and lethargic.  Make sure to keep away from eyes, and avoid rolling on your face. Just keep to your temples, back of neck and upper chest

"I recently researched the best treatment for dry skin and scalp...I then came across some helpful info on the benefits of Jojoba oil and decided to look for an organic brand. Your oil is truly wonderful. I now use it exclusively for skin and scalp, only adding frankincense essential oil for its calming effects. This combo is exceptional. I'm very glad I found Cliganic."
